We want you to consider Homosapien as your apothecary, a home away from home, if you will. Homosapien is a creation based on needs. It started with my personal needs and has long since become about meeting our collective needs.

Homosapien Organics began some 25 years ago with an allergic reaction to a commercial cleaning product. That is when our first cleaning product was born and this journey began.

Decades went by, making my own products for personal use and researching herbalism for my own passion. At the same time, I served as a military medic, then as a nurse, then trauma nurse and now a hospice nurse. 

After working in the medical field for a lifetime, and seeing the effects of modern medicine on the body I became utterly disenchanted with the corners of that world that left us a shell of ourselves, that robbed us of our dignity. Introduce a farm. I began volunteering there to cope with my career strain and with the moral injury I was feeling from watching our health system fail so many of my patients. I would go there and clean to help clear my heavy soul. One day another volunteer demanded to know what I was cleaning with. The idea of offering my recipes to a wider audience than my friends, family and my patients was brought up.

The volunteers on this farm became my first testers, and our first collaborators! Before I could blink Homosapien was birthed into this world.

All this history, love, effort and work goes into each and every Homospaien product we bring to you.  Each product is backed by a lifetime of knowledge.

Since that time on the farm, each and every recipe comes about the same way. A need. My life as a nurse and caregiver has always been about rooting out a need and then fixing it, and I am happy to say that Homosapien has fully embraced that spirit.
